Happy Anniversaryme locally grown and delicious organic vegetables.
Yesterday was a special day for us marking the 8th Wedding Anniversary for Jill and Evan. We married 8 years ago at a very small ceremony at the base of Mount Warning in Northern NSW. It was a beautiful wedding attended by immediate family members and some friends who made the journey up north. Since being married we have had two beautiful children, moved 4 times and are now setting up our second market garden in our favourite place, beautiful Nelson.
Jill and I fell deeply in love our first night out together, being my 29th birthday which coincided with me playing a gig with The Go Set at the Esplanade Hotel in St Kilda. I also proposed to Jill on stage in the middle of a Go Set gig at the Northcote Social Club, she had no idea it was coming but said yes without any hesitation.
It has been a difficult journey for us with many setbacks along way, particularly during the COVID period when we were essentially shunned by our entire community for simply telling the truth as we saw it. We are strong willed people however and always bounce back from hard times. Life in Nelson has proven to be very different and we now feel at home, supported and appreciated by like minded people across the local area.
Life is about enjoying the journey, not the destination. Thank you to everyone who has positively influenced our lives as a couple, we look forward to many more years together serving our local community.

Notes From The Garden
At Rainbow OMG we recognise the centuries long tradition of Moon Planting. In short the different phases of the Moon correspond to growth in in different parts of plants with about 7 days for each phase. The order is Leaf, Fruit/Flower, Root and Stop. We find this cycle an excellent tool for planning and scheduling of all the regular tasks needed for a functional farm.
This week is Stop Week which means nothing gets seeded or planted. Instead we focus on improving infrastructure, work flows, weeding beds and Evan usually takes this chance to do some extra Arborist work to bring more money in for the family.
