A New Retail Outlet
Another busy and productive week has passed, crops have been seeded and transplanted, others have been harvested, weeded and thinned out or pruned for maintenance. Providing fresh produce to our community year round means we are constantly cycling through different crops, planting and harvesting every week of the year.
Our most exciting news of the week however is that on Sunday we delivered our own display fridge to our local watering hole, the Nelson Hotel. Locals, tourists and fisherman can now conveniently acquire fresh, locally grown vegetables 7 days a week direct from our fridge located right near the entrance to the building. This is another huge step forward in our attempts to make access to our produce as easy as possible for the most amount of people.
A huge thank you to Rob and Kerry, the owners of the Nelson Hotel. We love our local pub and since the sad and unfortunate closing of the Kiosk in Nelson, they have stepped up to provide locals and tourists alike with some essential products to avoid having to travel to Mount Gambier for supplies.
This weekend will be our 4th Pop Up Market at the Limestone Coast Pantry. Come on down from 10:00-2:00 pm for a coffee, delicious meal, meaningful conversations and connections with like minded people and of course, some locally grown and delicious organic vegetables.
Our produce is now available for retail purchases and is featured on the menu at the Nelson Hotel and is always stocked and available at Food For Thought in Mount Gambier. Customers are welcome to come and visit the farm to take a look and purchase vegetables 7 days a week between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Notes From The Garden
At Rainbow OMG we recognise the centuries long tradition of Moon Planting. In short the different phases of the Moon correspond to growth in in different parts of plants with about 7 days for each phase. The order is Leaf, Fruit/Flower, Root and Stop. We find this cycle an excellent tool for planning and scheduling of all the regular tasks needed for a functional farm.
This week is Root Week and we have been busy. We have direct seeded Carrots, Potatoes and Turmeric as well as seeding a lot of Beetroots and Onions in the Greenhouse. We are currently out of Beetroots as they have sold much better than we expected this early in our new venture. To ensure this happens again we will increase the amount we seed each month to ensure our future supply.
