Rainbow OMG Weekly Post 13/07/22

Hello Rainbow OMGers,

As you can see in the featured photo we are now supplying an abundant variety of Locally Grown, Organic Vegetables to our community. We are proud of the quality of vegetables we are producing and look forward to our output scaling up as our soils re-invigorate over time. We have been to a lot of Farmer’s Market in many different regions and are confident in stating that we grow the best tasting vegetables I have ever put in my mouth. We look forward to the day when we our Subaru can no longer fit all of our orders and we need to buy a Van.

Our Cucumber vines have finally stopped producing, we think producing Cucumbers into July is a pretty good effort, as we learn to manage our Greenhouse we envision it producing Capsicums, Cucumbers and Tomatoes all Winter long, it’s important to have dreams and goals 🙂

Notes from the Garden

Last week was a Flower and Fruit Week in the Lunar Calendar ending yesterday. Flower and Fruit Weeks are a time to plant flowers, fertilise fruit trees and berry bushes, prune fruit trees and sew edible seeds such as peas and beans or even wheat and corn. In terms of the market garden we transplanted Broccoli and Direct Seeded another bed of Sugar Snap Peas, this time attempting a new trellis system to boost yields.

In a bid to get the earliest start on warm season crops we spent time in the Nursery seeding trays of Sunflowers, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Zucchini’s and Capsicums as well as late Broccoli to push into the end of Spring.

We have a limited amount of Spinach available first the first time this year!

Our latest batch of Gardenkraut is also ready and available.

The latest Sunshine Salve is ready! Our new jars are 2.5 x the size of our previous jars so we have raised the price but increased the value for money. There are less than 20 available this time around as we are reserving quite a bit for our growing family. The larger jars will last a very long time, likely more than a year for most people.

A reminder that some of our range is limited so please get your orders in quickly to secure your desired organic vegetables.

This week the Garden is providing Spinach (Limited), Celery (Limited) Red Russian Kale (limited) Sugar Snap Peas(Limited), Capsicums, Lettuce, Bok Choi, Blemmy Carrots (2 remaining), Carrots, Beetroots, Parsley and Coriander.

Crops currently growing but not ready this week are Broccoli, Cauliflower, Red Cabbage and Spinach.
