Hello Rainbow OMGers,
What a glorious week of Winter sunshine, our baby seedlings have all put on noticeable growth this week with the return of the Sun. We have ordered all our new seeds for next Summer and will get the first round of them started this month in our Greenhouse. We are hoping to be selling a tomatoes as early as October this year and will be growing a lot more and a larger variety of heirlooms than last year. Look forward to delicious tomatoes of all shapes and sizes being available this warm season.
Notes from the Garden
Last week was a Leaf Week in the Lunar Calendar ending today. Leaf Weeks are very busy for us as many of our crops are edible leaves. Celery, Spinach, Lettuce, Cabbage, Kale, Bok Choi, Rainbow Chard, Coriander and Parsley are all worked with on these weeks. Most of these crops are sown in trays in the Greenhouse then transplanted out, however we have been Direct Seeding Coriander and Parsley with great success recently.
We have a huge amount of Coriander growing in ground right now and and enormous amount of Parsley available now so we are running a 2 for 1 Sale on Parsley, you will get a double or larger serve for $5.00. Parsley is a crop that most people use far too little of, for example we use almost an entire $5.00 serve every day, more is better with Parsley!
Spinach is getting very close, we estimate having some available for sale next week.
Our latest batch of Gardenkraut is fermenting in the Crock and will be ready for sale in 2-3 weeks.
The latest Sunshine Salve is ready! Our new jars are 2.5 x the size of our previous jars so we have raised the price but increased the value for money. There are less than 20 available this time around as we are reserving quite a bit for our growing family. The larger jars will last a very long time, likely more than a year for most people.
A reminder that some of our range is limited so please get your orders in quickly to secure your desired organic vegetables.
This week the Garden is providing Celery (Limited) Red Russian Kale (limited) Sugar Snap Peas(Limited), Capsicums, Cucumbers, Lettuce, Bok Choi, Blemmy Carrots (2 remaining), Carrots, Beetroots, Parsley and Coriander.
Crops currently growing but not ready this week are Broccoli, Cauliflower, Red Cabbage and Spinach.

Product Focus: Celery
Celery needs no introduction to most people however it is worth noting that it is one of the more heavily sprayed vegetables in Chemical Agriculture. Most testing of off the shelf Celery returning residues of one or more Biocides (Life Killers) such as Herbicide or Pesticide. There is no “safe level” of Biocides to consume as our bodies have a very hard time getting them out once they have been consumed.
Celery is a crop where eating Organic is very important. Our Celery is a deeper green than most and is delicious.

- Save your leaves and tops (both are edible) to use when making Chicken or Beef Stock
