Rainbow OMG Weekly Post 12/01/22

Hello Rainbow OMGers,

As is customary Rainbow has been skirted by every raindrop that fell in the region in the last week. The Pipeline is a huge blessing to our town and we are certainly most grateful for this relatively new infrastructure available to us.

Last week was a Leaf Cycle in the Lunar Calendar so we planted out roughly 600 Lettuce, Basil and Parsley seedlings as well as sewing more of these types crops in our Nursery. Growing great Lettuce requires constant cropping year round.

Sugar Snap Peas are available this week, we have eaten our first Tomatoes and they should be available from next week, Basil,  Bok Choi and Rainbow Chard are available, Cucumbers are now abundant, Beetroots are available, we have one bag of Green Beans, Zucchini’s will be available from next week, Capsicums have their first fruit set, Carrots are very close and we have the biggest and best Butterhead Lettuce yet flowing from the Greenhouse.

Our latest Gardenkraut is bubbling away in the fermenting crock. This ferment contains red and green cabbage, garlic and beetroots. Keep your eye out for this in a few weeks.
