Christmas Hampers and Open Farm Market Stall
The weather is finally warming up in Nelson with Friday due to be our first day over 30 C for this Summer. Our green tomatoes on the vine will certainly appreciate it and our various salad greens are now protected with 30% shade cloth.
This week we delivered a custom ordered Christmas Hamper to a local Nelson resident and have decided to offer these more broadly to our customers. This hamper contained a mix of our Organic Vegetables, Pasture Raised Eggs, Sunshine Salve, Honey, Beeswax Candles, Silver Colloid Products, Sugar Free Hot Chocolate Blends and Indoor House Plants.
So if you would like to buy a loved one a nourishing gift for Christmas we can mix and match an order based on your budget. Please email or send us a DM if you are interested.
This Saturday December 13 will be our next Open Farm Market Stall 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. We will have our Market Stall set up in our driveway and welcome everyone to come for a walk around the farm and chat with us and other customers. The first two of these Open Farms have been a lot of fun and we really look forward to the next one. It is likely that the last of our delicious Sugar Snap Peas for the season will be sold at this stall so don’t miss out!
Our produce is available year round at Food For Thought in Mount Gambier as well as Willow & Bean in Portland who also feature our produce on their menu.
We also supply produce to the Bayside Cafe in Portland and the Nelson Hotel.

Notes From The Garden
At Rainbow OMG we recognise the centuries long tradition of Moon Planting. In short the different phases of the Moon correspond to growth in in different parts of plants with about 7 days for each phase. The order is Leaf, Fruit/Flower, Root and Stop. We find this cycle an excellent tool for planning and scheduling of all the regular tasks needed for a functional farm.
We are currently in a Root Week and due to increased demand have doubled our direct seeding of Carrots and Beetroots, pulled the last of our Garlic and transplanted some Onions in the garden.
