Returning to the Farmers Market
After a prolonged Winter lull in production we are delighted to announce that we will be returning the the Mount Gambier Farmers Market this Saturday August 23rd. August has turned on the sunshine and this week we are flush with cool season produce. The market runs from 9:00-12:00 at the Cave Gardens in the middle of Mount Gambier. Come on down for our amazing Spinach, Lettuce, Carrots, Beetroots, Bok Choi, Rocket, Kale, Coriander, Rainbow Chard, Parsley and more.
Evan had a fantastic 40th birthday celebration with family and friends which included a Tommy Collins and The Southern Lights gig followed by a bonfire, a BBQ the next day and then a week of fishing in Nelson. The Bream were very active in the estuary and we were able to eat a lot, put fillets in the freezer and make a lot of fish stock from the frames.
Our produce is available year round at Food For Thought in Mount Gambier where you can find a wide range of healthy products to compliment our vegetables.
We are actively seeking a retail outlet in Portland to extend our reach in the local region.
Our produce is featured on the menu at the Nelson Hotel and customers are welcome to come and visit the farm to take a look and purchase vegetables and supplements Monday to Saturday between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Notes From The Garden
At Rainbow OMG we recognise the centuries long tradition of Moon Planting. In short the different phases of the Moon correspond to growth in in different parts of plants with about 7 days for each phase. The order is Leaf, Fruit/Flower, Root and Stop. We find this cycle an excellent tool for planning and scheduling of all the regular tasks needed for a functional farm.
We are currently in a Stop Week which involves weeding and composting, general tidy up of the farm as well as continuing to develop infrastructure.
