The Weathermakers have certainly turned up the dial in the last 2 days. We have had strong winds since Monday and 25mm of rain across the last 2 days or so. Weather like this makes us celebrate all the hard work we put in installing our Nursery Polytunnel over the last 2 months. Our vegetable seedlings, tree seedlings and indoor house plants are protected from the cold temperatures, driving rain, hail and extreme wind. They are thriving under the diffused light and are growing beautifully.
Our Nursery not only supplies our farm with seedlings, we are also propagating trees, flowers, indoor plants and medicinal herbs all of which will be soon be available for sale both on farm and at our market stall. As a micro farm we are always looking to add diversity to our product lines in order to serve our customers to the highest level we can.
We will return the the Limestone Coast Pantry this Sunday 29th June 10:00 am – 1:00 pm come on down for a nice hot coffee, delicious meals, great conversations and Locally Grown Vegetables, Herbal Supplements, Honey and Colloidal Silver Products.
As always our supplements are available 24/7 from our website and can be posted anywhere in the world.
Our produce is featured on the menu at the Nelson Hotel and customers are welcome to come and visit the farm to take a look and purchase vegetables and supplements Monday to Saturday between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Notes From The Garden
At Rainbow OMG we recognise the centuries long tradition of Moon Planting. In short the different phases of the Moon correspond to growth in in different parts of plants with about 7 days for each phase. The order is Leaf, Fruit/Flower, Root and Stop. We find this cycle an excellent tool for planning and scheduling of all the regular tasks needed for a functional farm.
We are currently in a Stop Week and have been turning over some old beds, hand weeding existing crops, applying liquid seaweed to beds and top dressing with more compost. The rains have soaked the ground and we are ready to hit the ground running in the Leaf Week which is our busiest each month.
Product Focus – Reishi Mushroom Caps
The Reishi Mushroom is and edible mushroom originating from Asia. Whilst it is perfectly fine and safe to eat, Reishi Mushroom’s have quite a bitter taste which can be a turn off for people from western cultures.
