Welcome to Rainbow OMG Home Deliveries
We are excited and proud to finally announce that our Home Delivery service will commence this Friday 20th of September. Customers in Mount Gambier and Nelson can now order locally grown, organic, freshly harvested vegetables delivered to their door every Friday afternoon. We are very proud of the quality of our produce and are certain you will be satisfied. Orders are placed through our webstore, can be paid with card or cash and will be delivered in a returnable, insulated shopping bag by us, the farmers.
If it is listed in the webstore, it is available. We look forward to meeting our new customers and sharing our delicious and nutritious vegetables with our region.
This milestone marks almost 9 months of blood, sweat and tears of transforming a weedy goat paddock into a productive and aesthetically pleasing market garden. We have now dug out, shaped, raked, broadforked and planted 34 of the initial 40 market beds in our design, the finish line is near, at least for this stage of start up journey. Being the second time we have now done this, we are grateful that the initial hard yakka is almost over. The time is near where the bulk of our work is tending the veggies rather than landscaping.
We would like to thank all who encouraged us to have another crack at this business, especially Robert and Kerry from the Nelson Hotel, Joanne from Food For Thought in Mount Gambier and Lynette from the Limestone Coast Pantry. Without your initial enthusiasm we would not have had the strength to follow our dreams
Our produce is now featured on the menu at the Nelson Hotel and is stocked and available at Food For Thought and Limestone Coast Pantry in Mount Gambier. Orders can also be placed through our online store for local pickup and customers are welcome to come and visit the farm 7 days a week between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm. Weekly home deliveries to Mount Gambier will begin in a few months when we have a fully planted farm and more production.

Notes From The Garden
At Rainbow OMG we recognise the centuries long tradition of Moon Planting. In short the different phases of the Moon correspond to growth in in different parts of plants with about 7 days for each phase. The order is Leaf, Fruit/Flower, Root and Stop. We find this cycle an excellent tool for planning and scheduling of all the regular tasks needed for a functional farm.
Today marks a Stop day in between the Fruit and Flower week and Root week. As such last week was spent planting many, many flowers, bush and climbing beans, transplanting Zucchini’s into beds as well as seeding more Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Capsicums, Zucchinis and even some Jalapeno Chilli’s. Next week will involve Beetroots, Carrots, Onions, Potatoes and more.
Of the Summer varieties Zucchini’s will come first, closely followed by Beans, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Basil and Capsicums.
