A Reality Check
This has been a mentally challenging week at Rainbow OMG. We have put our heart and souls into this business for 2.5 years, working our tails off 6-7 days a week, the whole time and producing a lot of food. That all sounds great right?
Well here is the obverse of the situation, we are growing a lot of the best quality vegetables anyone could hope to have access to. From the launch of our business we have thrown out roughly 80% of what we have grown. Yes 80% of our production is being thrown to the chickens, this is not sustainable. We have been living well below the poverty line the whole time and frankly are sick of it.
We love our very small group of dedicated and loyal customers, but the reality is we currently have nowhere near enough customer to go on much longer. We have heard a lot of people encourage us with lip service, Likes and the odd Share on Facebook but barely anyone actually steps up to buy anything. If you want locally grown food to be available you need to buy some, even if its just one head of lettuce a week. Our produce is not expensive, it lasts for weeks and is delicious.
We can continue the Supplements side of our business forever but the Market Garden needs more customers and we need them quickly. Does this region want local food or should I just stick to gardening for my family, which I can do easily and with no stress? The choice is yours.

Notes From The Garden
One last hot day over the weekend tested some of our seedlings both in the ground and the Nursery but we appear to have gotten through it ok. Sugar Snap Peas are growing up the trellis and soon we will plant a lot more Spinach, Broccoli, Red Cabbage and Kale for the cooler seasons ahead.
This week the Garden is providing Rainbow Salad, Capsicums, Bok Choi, Butterhead Lettuce, Garlic, Beetroots, Zucchini’s, Eggs, Rainbow Chard, Cucumbers, Carrots, Blemmy Carrots, Coriander (limited), Pasley (limited) and Celery.
Crops currently growing but not ready are Spinach, Red Russian Kale, Sugar Snap Peas and Basil.
Some of our products may be a little different to what customers are used to so we will be providing Product Profiles in our Weekly Post and in a dedicated page on our website. This will provide recipe ideas and nutritional information for all of the vegetables and products we offer.

Hello
I would be very interested but wondered could you deliver to Warracknabeal?
Hi Trish, sorry we can’t deliver to Warracknabeal for just one order, we have been trying to organise group buys in every town in the area for the last 2 years and had no bites. It appears that people simply don’t value organic vegetables in this region.
Can I please have your address, my partner lives in Japerit, and would like to come and have a look, thank you
Hi Sam, the farm is a 2 Rigg Street Rainbow.
