Eat The Rainbow
At Rainbow OMG we chose “Eat The Rainbow” as our slogan for two reasons. Firstly when purchasing and consuming our produce you are literally eating part of the town of Rainbow, we grow in Rigg Street, not Queensland. Secondly eating the rainbow is a directive to follow for optimum health. Every colour visible in a plant co-relates to a particular Phytonutrient which in turn assist our bodies in alleviating disease (dis-ease) and maintaining optimum performance. Our signature product to help you Eat The Rainbow is Rainbow Chard which we grow all year and is currently in growing in abundance thanks to all the recent rain. We encourage customers to try some Rainbow Chard this week in your order.
Notes From The Garden
This is a Root week in the Lunar Calendar so we have Direct Seeded Carrots and Beetroots while also cropping out a mature bed of Carrots. Our Garlic beds are looking very healthy, our Onions have really put on growth with the slight temperature increase and abundant rain and our cover crop of Daikon Radish is looking massive and will be turned in very soon in order to plant Ginger and Turmeric. We hope to have some Garlic for sale later this year.
We will be making our next batch of Gardenkraut very soon. This will be a more traditional Kraut with Red Cabbage forming the base.
The latest Sunshine Salve is ready! Our new jars are 2.5 x the size of our previous jars so we have raised the price but increased the value for money. There are less than 20 available this time around as we are reserving quite a bit for our growing family. The larger jars will last a very long time, likely more than a year for most people.
A reminder that some of our range is limited so please get your orders in quickly to secure your desired organic vegetables.
This week the Garden is providing Butterhead Lettuce, Rainbow Chard, Spinach, Celery (Limited) Red Russian Kale, Broccoli (limited), Carrots, Beetroots, Coriander and Parsley.
Crops currently growing but not ready this week are Sugar Snap Peas, Bok Choi, and Red Cabbage.

| The ever beautiful Rainbow Chard is simply multi coloured Silverbeet. Rather than just green and white Silverbeet, Rainbow Chard comes in red, pink, orange, yellow, white with pink stripes, white and more allowing you to Eat The Rainbow. Rainbow Chard can be best described as salty spinach crossed with celery. It is best served lightly cooked and is generally prepared by cutting the leaves off the stem, then slicing the stem up like celery and the leaves like spinach.
