Donovan’s Easter Sunday Market<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

What a beautiful week of weather we have been blessed with in Nelson. The sun has been shining and the weather has been in the 30s for the last few days keeping our Tomatoes and Capsicums ripening, Garlic germinating and all crops growing nicely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Sunday April 20 we will be our first stall at the Donovan’s Easter Sunday Market 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. We have heard great things about this market for both its variety of stalls and the huge amount of people who attend. Our stall will feature all currently available fresh produce and Jill has been diligently working all week, preparing her full range of herbal supplements as well as as fresh batch of Sunshine Salve for customers to enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In light of Jill’s dedication our online store<\/a> is now re-activated and live meaning customers from all over Australia and the world can order our supplement range to be posted to them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our produce is now available for retail purchases and is featured on the menu at the Nelson Hotel and is always stocked and available at Food For Thought in Mount Gambier. Customers are welcome to come and visit the farm to take a look and purchase vegetables 7 days a week between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notes From The Garden<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

At Rainbow OMG we recognise the centuries long tradition of Moon Planting. In short the different phases of the Moon correspond to growth in in different parts of plants with about 7 days for each phase. The order is Leaf, Fruit\/Flower, Root and Stop. We find this cycle an excellent tool for planning and scheduling of all the regular tasks needed for a functional farm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are currently in Root Week and we have been digging out more new beds to plant Garlic, Carrots and Beetroots. We have nearly utilised all the available space for our 10 metre beds and are looking forward to a more subdued Winter where we can spend time tending the garden rather than landscaping it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
