New $5 Range For Christmas Pop Up Market<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After a brief hiatus we are back!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rainbow OMG will be holding our final Pop Up Market for 2024 this Saturday, December 21. We have come through our brief lull in production and will have a wide range of products available this weekend in our brand new $5 range for most products. We have adjusted the size of most of our products to allow customers to purchase a broader range of vegetables within their budget. Jill has also been diligently working on her skin salve and supplements range, all of which will also be available at the Pop Up Market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has supported our business in its first year of market gardening in Nelson. We look forward to seeing you all at the Limestone Coast Pantry<\/a> this Saturday 10:00 – 2:00 pm and sending you home a with a broad range of products for your Christmas and holiday meals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our produce is now available for retail purchases and is featured on the menu at the Nelson Hotel and is always stocked and available at Food For Thought in Mount Gambier. Customers are welcome to come and visit the farm to take a look and purchase vegetables 7 days a week between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notes From The Garden<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

At Rainbow OMG we recognise the centuries long tradition of Moon Planting. In short the different phases of the Moon correspond to growth in in different parts of plants with about 7 days for each phase. The order is Leaf, Fruit\/Flower, Root and Stop. We find this cycle an excellent tool for planning and scheduling of all the regular tasks needed for a functional farm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last two weeks have been Fruit\/Flower week and Root Week. This means we direct seeded a lot of Green Beans, Trellised our Tomatoes, Cucumbers and Capsicums, seeded more Cucumbers, Zucchinis and Beetroots in the greenhouse as well ad direct seeding more Carrots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than just green and white Silverbeet, Rainbow Chard comes in red, pink, orange, yellow, white with pink stripes, white and more allowing you to Eat The Rainbow. Rainbow Chard is far more heat tolerant that traditional Spinach and is generally available all year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
