An Exciting Announcement<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We just had an excellent weekend celebrating Evan’s 39th birthday. It was the first party he has had since his 30th so it was a really nice time with great food, music and conversations around a bonfire. 

Monday proved to be a very fruitful day being approached by a new long term customer in Mount Gambier. We are thrilled to announce that as of later today the Limestone Coast Pantry<\/a> will also now be stocking our delicious, local, organic produce for sale to the public as well as hopefully utilising our vegetables in their cafe and pre-prepared meals. It is so gratifying to have momentum early on in this venture, our first time around was very difficult with ongoing support only on offer from a very small group of dedicated customers. 

The future is bright for Rainbow OMG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our produce is now featured on the menu at the Nelson Hotel<\/a> and is stocked and available at Food For Thought<\/a> and Limestone Coast Pantry<\/a> in Mount Gambier. Orders can also be placed through our online store<\/a> for local pickup and customers are welcome to come and visit the farm 7 days a week between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm. Weekly home deliveries to Mount Gambier will begin in a few months when we have a fully planted farm and more production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notes From The Garden<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

At Rainbow OMG we recognise the centuries long tradition of Moon Planting. In short the different phases of the Moon correspond to growth in in different parts of plants with about 7 days for each phase. The order is Leaf, Fruit\/Flower, Root and Stop. We find this cycle an excellent tool for planning and scheduling of all the regular tasks needed for a functional farm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are currently in a Leaf Week which which are the busiest week of each month for us. We have seeded trays of Spinach, Lettuce, Kale, Bok Choi, Rainbow Chard, Celery and Basil as well as direct seeded more Coriander and Parsley in the gardens. We will also transplant various seedlings from the above list as well as the usual harvesting and delivering of produce to our existing customers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Product Focus – Bok Choi<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Bok Choi also known as Asian Greens are from the Brassica family of vegetable which also include Broccoli, Cabbage, Mustard etc. Our Bok Choi\u2019s are much larger than those normally available in stores. The white stems are crisp and sweet and the greens have a mild, peppery flavour, Bok Choi grows year round in our climate so should form a staple of a seasonal, local diet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
