Welcome To Rainbow OMG<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Last week was hard, really, really hard. After hitting rock bottom we wondered just what are we doing here and does anyone actually care? In desperation we put out a very different Weekly Post, pleading for someone to confirm that we are producing things of value to people in our town or region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thankfully in our darkest hour many of you responded. We now have a whole new list of customers from Horsham, Nhill, Dimboola, Jeparit and soon to be Warracknabeal as well. We now know that there are a lot of people in our greater region who see the value we are providing and are willing to support us. We promise to continue growing the highest quality, seasonal, fresh, organic\/biodynamic vegetables as long as we have the customer base to support us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were called out here to do this work, abandoning a rapidly developing business in a high income region to move to a place where fresh food is either not available at all or so old it is not worth paying for. It was possibly the worst idea for a business anyone could come up with but we felt in our hearts it was what we were meant to be doing. We are a mission driven business, driven by our passion to share our healing journey with other people, offering help to those who wish to receive it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We look forward to serving our region for many, many years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notes From The Garden<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

At Rainbow OMG we plant by the Moon as much as we possible can. We do this as we recognise the centuries long wisdom of farmers observing that different stages on the Moon co-relate to growth in different parts of the plant. The cycle is Leaf, Flower, Fruit, Root, Stop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last week was a Leaf Week in the Lunar Calendar, and while we had a few days of due to being too depressed to do much, yesterday we tried to make up for it. We planted over 500 Spinach Seedlings, 100 Butterhead Lettuce, Red Cabbages, Coriander, Parsley and Red Russian Kale and Bok Choi. We ran of daylight to do seeding in the Nursery, but today after pruning all the Greenhouse vines we will seed trays of Spinach, Lettuce, Kale, Bok Choi, Parsley and Rainbow Chard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week the Garden is providing Celery, Capsicums, Bok Choi, Butterhead Lettuce, Garlic, Cherry Tomatoes (limited), Zucchini’s, Eggs, Rainbow Chard, Cucumbers, Carrots, Basil (limited) Coriander (limited) and Pasley (limited).

Crops currently growing but not ready are Spinach, Red Russian Kale, Sugar Snap Peas, Rainbow Salad, Beetroots<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of our products may be a little different to what customers are used to so we will be providing Product Profiles in our Weekly Post and in a dedicated page on our website. This will provide recipe ideas and nutritional information for all of the vegetables and products we offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Product Focus: Bok Choi<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Bok Choi also known as Asian Greens are from the Brassica family of vegetable which also include Broccoli, Cabbage, Mustard etc. Our Bok Choi’s are much larger than those normally available in stores. The white stems are crisp and sweet and the greens have a mild, peppery flavour, Bok Choi grows year round in our climate so should form a staple of a seasonal, local diet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
