While shovelling horse manure and weeds into a pile may not be romantic to some, the end product is well worth the effort. Making good quality compost is both a science and art and is a skill which improves with practice. Compost is the world’s best fertiliser, it generally has a neutral pH, is high in organic matter (sequesters carbon) and contains a large spectrum on mineral and biological soil nutrition. In chemical free farming we feed the soil then the soil feeds the plants rather than feeding the plants with water soluble fertilisers. This pile was made from local horse manure, raked up leaves and accumulated weeds from the market garden. Our piles are static, meaning we do not turn them but they are watered periodically to keep the moisture up. We will soon be sourcing both Rock Dust and Biochar to add to our compost to make it even more potent.

This Week’s Available Produce and Supplements

Butterhead Lettuce $7.50
Garlic 200g $10
OMG Eggs $7.50
Cucumbers $7.50
Beetroots $7.50
<s>Cherry Tomatoes 500g $10</s>
<s>Beefsteak Tomatoes 500g $10</s>
Zucchini 400g $5 <s>
</s>Rainbow Chard $7.50
Celery $7.50
Kale $7.50
Carrots 750g $7.50
Cod Liver Oil & Butter Oil Gel $84.90
Gardenkraut 400g – $15
Bovine Collagen Powder $10
Reishi Mushroom Capsules $35
Turmeric Capsules $35
Beef Organ Capsules $55
Moringa Capsules $55
Sunshine Salve $100
Clean Sweep $10

This Week On YouTube

Our latest video is live on YouTube in which Jill goes deeper into Gut Health and How to Heal Your Gut.
